Your first step in deciding on an essential oil blend is to discuss the available options with your massage therapist. If you've never used an aromatherapy blend during massage (or even if you have), it's important to let your therapist know about any medications you're taking, any aches or pains, any emotional situations you're dealing with, any recent or upcoming demands on your physical body, any illnesses or allergies, and what you're looking for in a massage. Any or all of these will affect your body's response to massage and to certain essential oils. Your massage therapist is your partner in this process and can guide you towards the outcome you want.
At YBN, all our blends are created in-house by Rose. She personally researches and sources the essential and carrier oils we use to assure you of top quality and purity, and she has established relationships with growers, distributors, and manufacturers around the globe.
Here are our signature blends, with uses and benefits of each. In addition, we always feature a unique "Blend of the Month" which changes according to the seasons and our clients' needs.
Muscle Therapy Blend. Soothe your tired, aching muscles. Essential oils of Peppermint, Black Pepper, Rosemary, Clove Bud, Thyme, and Ginger allow for increased circulation and decreased muscle tension. The "go-to" for sore muscles after exercise or strain. Our Muscle Therapy Blend is also available as a cream for home use.
Total Calm. A supremely calming mix of Clarysage, Frankincense, and Ylang Ylang. Clarysage is ideal for nervous tension and balancing the mind. Frankincense helps alleviate anxiety, stress, and tension, and is grounding to your psyche. Ylang Ylang is sensual, uplifts your spirit, and keeps the other oils in the blend from overwhelming you. This beautifully peaceful blend will leave you feeling calm and centered, stilling your mind without sedating it.
Eucalyptus & Peppermint. Stimulate both your body and your mind with this invigorating blend. Eucalyptus is great for respiratory problems and Peppermint combats lethargy. Perfect during allergy season or for sinus problems.
Geranium & Orange. A cheerful, uplifting blend that leaves you mentally balanced and alert. Geranium is a healing oil that has a stimulating effect on the lymphatic system making it beneficial for treating fluid retention. Orange is calming and helps if you are feeling anxious or out of sorts.
Classic Blend Lavender. Pure Lavender essential oil will melt away your stress and leave you feeling relaxed and comforted. We use French Lavender in our massage oil, which is wonderfully soothing to dry skin.
Roman Chamomile and Lavender. Roman Chamomile is extremely relaxing, aids in promoting restful sleep, and relieves dry skin. It works in concert with Lavender to calm your entire nervous system and provide maximum relief from stress and anxiety. This blend is also an excellent choice for sensitive skin.
